

Colin
MacCabe has produced more than ten feature films and thirty hours of televisiondocumentaries
devoted to the history of the cinema. Directors he has worked with include
Derek Jarman, Terence Davies, Stephen Frears, Jean-Luc Godard and Chris Marker.
He has collaborated with Isaac Julien for more than twenty years in a variety
of genres:
feature film (Young Soul Rebels, 1991), documentary (Baadasssss,
2002), installation (Paradise Omeros, 2002). His books on the cinema
include Godard: A Portrait
of the Artist at 70 (Bloomsbury, 2003) and The Butcher Boy (Irish
Film Institute 2007). He is Distinguished Professor of English and Film at
the University of Pittsburgh and Professor
of English and Humanities Birkbeck, University of London.
